Hi guys,
I recently bought a 2018 Sidewinder LTX LE with a Turbo Dynamics 2 stage kit installed and I want to change the oil and I was wondering if I should stick with 0W-40 or something else?

Quality 0W40 full synthetic will be good to go.

Do you know if the recommended is 0W-40 like the internet says or 0W-30 like the manual says?Quality 0W40 full synthetic will be good to go.
I use 0W30 in my SW but all my riding friends with 998s use 0W40. Both grades are fine and have not created any issues in our group.

The first number is the base weight of the oil, the second number is the performance of the oil at higher temperatures. This is accomplished by adding viscosity improvers. A 30w oil is already a thick oil for a performance motor. Either oil will work. If you want the extra protection, go with 0W40.

0-30 is recommended, most likely no damage useing other oil’s shouldn’t cause issues

Back in 2017, Cat recommended 0w-40.
Either is fine. Thousands of 998s out there running both.
Here in TY. There's multiple threads on oil. Just search to read.

I have been running 5w-30 Mobil 1 for a few years now on my TD tuned 2017. It has been posted here before that 5w-30 actually showed more HP that 0w-40 (30-weight vs 40-weight). Regardless, either weight oil will be fine for this application.

Why do you think NASCAR cars run like 0w-20 or 0w-15 in qualifying? Less drag from oil = more hp available to wheels! It won't work for a race, but it will live just for qualifying.
