I have a opertunity to buy a mpi turbo kit with clutching and gauges
The kit is slightly used 1000km and for sale for a great deal.
My question is this a bad idea to buy this kit used
If not what would you inspect to make sure everything is in good order?
He say it was dealer installed and removed and comes with all new gaskets and hardware
I was planning on a sidewinder but my Viper runs perfect with no issues except I want more power

Look for visible scarring of the blades in the turbine or compressor and any oil in either can be a sign of worn out seals around by the bearings. Honestly, the MPI turbos aren't working too hard in the trail setup and the Mitsubishi 15g is a proven piece of equipment with applications on OEM auto's for years. If the deal is there and you trust the kit is complete (I'd walk through the MPI directions and make sure all the bullshit connections are all there) then why not go for it!

Is it a trail kit with EABC?

Does it have the EABC, Electronic Altitude Boost Compensator.
I'll text him and find out right now His kit was bought new in 2015
Is EABC a must have with kit? If it doesn't would it be a deal breaker for yourself
Thanks for your guidance

It makes it more of a no brainer as far as set up and fuel. It also will give you the same power no matter the elevation or temp.. runs more consistent with little to no lag.

I texted him no answer yet what does it look like where is it mounted...
I have pics of all parts
Thanks again

Depending how he had it set up you may have to adjust the waste gate as well as the fuel on the gems.

Great point. No way to know until you get it put together and start seeing numbers.

if I get the kit can I purchase the eabc and added it on or is there more mods involved?

You should be able to add it on. Contact MPI. Make sire you get a boost and AFR gauges or you will be tuning in the dark.

the kit comes with both gauges and clutching!
I checked mpi web site and it's a plug and play add on!
So in your opinion Mr sled is this a must have?
I'm a turbo virgin

By no means a must have but a cool add on! The kit out of the box will run great. If you change elevation frequently I would be more concerned about getting one to maintain power.
