Does anyone run the usi power x skies. I bought a 05 warrior with them on it and it steers like a bus. I thought maybe the sled needed various adjustments but after borrowing some stock yami skies from a friend, I realized its all in the skies. I'm not impressed with them thus far, until I hit deep powder, just wondering what peoples thoughts on them. Thanks.

I am running the USI X2's on my '05 RX-1. I got them off of a friend of mine who said they were horrible and traded me straight up for my stockers (he got rid of his when he bought the X2's). Frankly I think its a matter of taste. I am a very agressive groomed trail rider.
Yes they steer hard but thats the only complaint I have. Everyone who rides my sled hates it because it steers too hard. What no one seems to acknowledge is that it doesn't dart and is extremely predictable. Putting those skis on my RX-1 was the best thing I ever did. Yes they steer hard but they are so sharp and predictable it doesn't take much to get the sled to turn. Just some pressure on the bars and thats it. Also, no matter what the sled goes EXACTLY where I want it to, regardless of conditions. I can ride at 60MPH with the right ski an inch from the edge of the trail and the sled stays there, you never have to worry about darting or drifting off. Thats how good mine track.
The stockers steer easy but are extremely unpredictable, sliding one moment, and grabbing another without warning. While they steer lighter the unpredictable nature of them results in more effort which ends up being worse than the hard nature of the USI's. So...yes the USI's are harder to steer but you aren't always working the bars back and forth to compensate for unpredictability like with the stockers so in the end they are actually less effort.
Keep in mind that I have an '05 and therefore a monoshock skid. That might be the difference but give them some time, play with your set up a little and see what happens.

I also have a 05 with the mono, the effort it takes to steer is also my only complaint. i had a dart issue but after the shim trick all darting went away. I will agree with everything you said im just glad to hear that its not my sled. i can deal with the steering because of how well it stays on top of the powder. thanks for the info.
they have three holes for the ski mount, use the rear most hole, they can steer easy.
center hole will suck for turning but will bite harder.

i will try that for sure. I was wondering what the different holes would do for handling.

I have SLP SLT on my RX1's and will never go back to stock ski's again. I only have 6 inches of carbide and the sled handles like the 80's Indy's. It is seriously amazing what good ski's do for an RX sled. Yes the sled steers harder at slow speeds, but being connected to the trail at speed is far better then using stock ski's and pushing all over the place.
