I am in the process of planning a trip in early January to West Yellowstone and the surround area for my dad and me. What needs to be changed in the Cards or anything else to run out west on this sled? I think with my attak I should be all set because of the EFI system.

Are you trail riding, or playing in the powder. You can get away with just drilling out the rivits in the weights. We bring a few out that don't leave the trail and that is ok. If you are going to play, I will have to ask my friend what he does to his.

On the Warrior, drill out the rivets, and #130 main jets. Drill rivets out on the attack and just run it. You can run a white secondary spring on both, but you won't need to for trail riding. When you see the powder you may wish you did the springs. Its's fun to get stuck.

Ratpack,
Call me stupid.. Were are the rivets on the clutch and if I drill them out, what do I have to do when I get back east to ride the sled?
I will pick up the springs for the hell of it.

In each clutch weight there are holes that you can put different size rivets in. That is one way to control your RPM's. Look on the Yamaha set up sheets to see what size rivets are in each hole. We have run them the same here and there, but it is really not very good. your Rx1 could run stock jets out there if you want. I can't do it with boost now but I used to leave them the same sometimes when it was stock. The warrior needs shut off valves on the coolant in the mountains. If you don't, it will need to be held wide open to start on the side of the trail. Need a good battery, and it's a pain. Fuel shut offs work fine. You just need to keep the coolant from going to the carbs. Pm me if you want to talk.

Yes I consider the coolant shut off a must for out west on the RX. I dropped needles as lean as possible and my Rx ran good then. I couldnt hardly get it to drive off trailer at 6k feet before moving needles. Gearing down also helps.
