Was checking my valve clearence on my 2003 RX1 today, the exaust was inside the clearence tabell. But on the intake side there was no clearence, measured several times. The shims that was used was 60-202-201-202, from cylinder 1-4.
As far as I know to motor havent been revalved or checked before, i havent done anything to the valves, but removed and assemblyed the cams when i changed pistons.
Has anybody seen this before?

You have to shim the valve clearance to the upper end of spec on a turbo motor. You're leaking compression running without any clearance at all on the intake. This situation could seriously damage your engine. You will also loose power cause your valves will stay slightly open due to no valve clearance. Work to do.... just do it, it's a must.

And for your question, yes I have seen it.
For the record. I have not seen one single engine that did not need valve clearance adjustment, food for thought.

Thanks for your replay rxrider. The biggest consern is if the valves have been over heated, but for now i will install new shims and ride it for the rest of the season. The head havent been touched before so I dont think it has become like this now. The engine has run only 3800 km.

I've seen almost new engines with valve clearances close to minimum spec or even under spec.
