Love this site guys !! Got 600 miles on the new Vector GT , but have a question on what to do with the front shocks . The upper knob is for compession dampening , the lower knob is for rebound dampening . I thought about just messing around with them , but thought maybe somebody could tell me which to adjust for what conditions . I'm 5'10" 160 lbs ( no gear ) , ride mostly trails ( northern WI ) , usually fairly hard . I got most of the ski lift out , still not as good as the ol' 98" 600sx , but getting there . Track howl at 45 -55 mph is terrible on the hard pack , but got better in the soft snow we got over New Years weekend .
Thanx

I honestly have never had adjustable shocks until this week but since nobody has chimed in to help (c'mon guys I thought you'd all be on this one!!!!) but IMO if you ride hard, you'll want the compression turned up fairly high. As to the rebound, start in the middle and go both ways....trial and error I guess. THey're easy to change on the trail.
NOW...IMO, your springs have more to do with cornering lift than the shocks. IMO, the Vector front springs are borderline too light (obviuosly perf houses agree cuz they're offering heavier springs), so to reduce your cornering lift, crank up the springs.
One should replace the rear track shock with a rebuildable shock. Deycore will custom build a no clicker, but rebuildable HPG shock for $265 (15% less in the summer). The 06 Nytro shock will also fit and the (compression only) clicker is EASY to adjust vs the Ohlins.
Hope any of this helped...

Thanks for info !! I have aready gone almost a full turn on the front springs and think they need a little more . Snow in hayward area was rock hard and sled acted totallly different than the New Years weekend snow . Will be up there this weekend and do some more tinkering , Thax again !!
