I will likley be selling my Vector this fall and was wondering if there is any one that will be in the market and what you think a fair price should be. Liquid silver ER, cover, studes, 1,280Mi, not a scratch. Dealer will give me $5,500 off cash price on trade. What do you think, can i get more or just trade it. If i sell it the dealer will handel the paper work as a trade so the tax dif is not a issue. kviper

5500 off cash price would be good. as you would save the tax on 5500, But make sure that is off a true cash price not a number they just give you. I think if you sold it out right you would between 5-6 . I just picked up one for under what they are offering you with 275 miles on it.good luck

I will not be paying the tax on $5,500 either way, If i sell it the dealer will do the paper work as a trade and then sell it to who ever i have an agreement with on price, for that price. I guess i will have to wait till fall and see what happen's, might start at $6,000 and see how it goes. Thank's, kviper

I have a red ER with 144 studs. 560 miles, also not a scatch. To trade towards an 'o6 ER would have cost me $2,200. Don't know how this compares to your deal but I thought he was way out in left field.

I have more miles on mine but that still sound's great. I am getting $5500 for my Vector ER, 1,280 Mi off of $8518 for a Apex ER, that's over $3000 to trade. I only found two other dealer's that will beat that and they were with in $100 of my price. I am sticking with my dealer because they are close and treat me well such as the trade or sell option and doing the paper work through them to save the tax either way. I will try for $6000 next fall and actualy have a couple people interested. If i don't sell it i may be able to squeze a $100 or two more out of my dealer. kviper

5500 would be a good price, especially now, since the season is over-in most places. if its stock and u havent done anything to it, and guessin u bought it for $7500 or so...thats a $2000 depreciation....isnt bad considering its not the top of the line performance machine. just look at what guys r takin hits on there turboed machines..crazy

I have 1500 miles, a skid plate, the custom cover, and saddlebags on mine, and have 2 people interested at a starting price of $6500. Selling bare, new at the local shops for $7300. I know they are cheaper elsewhere, but here that is what they are asking.

trading my vector for an Apex for $2490 less tax.
$8490 is pretty much the low Apex price so I got $6000 for mine.
But I sent the dealer some business and he sold some of my old sleds and made a good profit.

5,500 sounds like a great price to get as a trade in for that sled with those miles. However, coming from an automotive dealership background and being an all around pesimist, I can only think that he'll get his money back one way or the other. The new purchase price is usually higher when you get a good trade in figure.

I've found that everything gets more truthful when you negotiate the best purchase price PRIOR to letting them know that you have a trade in. Then they're forced to show you an actual trade in figure instead of magic numbers.

Sorry, I just replaced two vehicles, so I've recently been reminded on the trade in process. :?

Just for your info,
In central NY you can pick up a new 05 Vector ER for $6995.00
