Vector stator replacement

Did you guys have to replace the cover gasket when you changed the stator??

i have the cover loose, but it feels like its on a spring or something, i did not want to put to much pressure on it, also do you have to remove the bolt on the crank, thanks goodday

I haven't gotten any further as my parts are still on the way. But here is the page from my manual showing the parts involved.
