stator on my 09 vector just let go,i put a tester on the leads and am reading only 8 volts when its running, what's involved in replacing a stator,or is it a dealer job,i did a search but always have a hard time finding what i need, help would be greatly appreciated, sled has 15000 miles

Had dealership change out my stator for 06 Vector in 2011. Stator cost $380.59 and labour was 4&1/2 hours at $357.50. Didn't have time to try replacing it myself as was leaving on a trip in a few days, so don't know how difficult a job it is. Have read that it can be troublesome to try to get the stator cover off with the motor frame being in the way.

Sorry to hear about your stator. Just wanted to say I know that dealer because I was born in that town. I live in Windsor but will be going that way sledding poss during the week of Feb 9th

"'pat the rat", how are the trails around Earlton and surrounding areas? Always love sledding in that region.

Our trails are awesome,in perfect shape, problem is the surrounding clubs are struggling with groomer issues, kirkland lake have 3 groomers and at a certain point, all 3 were down,2 with major issues, many many obstacles this year with the cold temps and abundance of snow

Dealer called me today saying that my sled wont be ready till next tuesday, but he offered me to take a demo viper until i get my sled back,i was very impressed, first time a dealer offers me a sled,i didnt take is offer cuz its a 2 hour round trip just to go get it,plus ,no trail pass on it,but a very nice gesture if you ask me

Sorry I did not reply back sooner. I just got back from Owen Sound and did 600klms it was a great weekend. I will be going to Bearn the week of Feb 8th to the 15th and poss going thru Earlton.

Are stator failures common on the higher mileage Vectors?

Mike,

Mine went at 7500 miles. Now have 15,000 and so far so good.
