I rode my wifes vector this weekend and could not believe how much better my rage rides, any tips to help me get this sled to ride better for her would be greatly appreciated. It seemed very harsh and i have the springs at the softest setting.

A little more info would be helpful, like your weight, current settings, etc. It is also interesting what others describe as harsh. The Vector was too soft for me, and I have the springs set on the hard position. Could your wife's sled actually be bottoming out causing the harsh feeling? I went with an Ohlins rear skid shock to stop mine from bottoming so easily and it has worked out very well for me the last 500 miles. Nice soft bottoming on extreme bumps instead of the previous bone jarring jolt.
If it truly is too stiff, try dialing in some more transfer to keep the initial load on just the rear springs for longer. Some trial and error may be in order too, so write down your starting points and maybe try buting more tension on the torsion spring to raise the ride height. (assuming that it's an '05 with ProActive skid)

The suspension seemed very stiff even for me, the trail was washboarded and the back end was hopping badly. We do not ride on real rough trails or very aggresively. I want to soften it up quite a bit. Would it help to take the bottoming stoppers off? I will mess with the transfer and see if that will help.

Common problem sled is WAY to stiff for lighter riders back shock has way to much rebound and pitches rear around except for the big guys . Set transfer to full as you can ,take out stoppers . if you can aford it junk shock and Have Pioneer revealve center shock as well. CAUTION if you bottom without the stoppers you had better be standing cause it will be harsh . over all much better that way though.

Agree on the rear shock. When I had mine out, it felt dead. Cycling the shock next to the Ohlins was night and day, even with the Ohlins set on full soft. Hardly any dampening either way from the steel one. For me (228) it allowed full bottom out way too easily. I could see how it could cause lighter riders fits, as it wouldn't slow the rebound much.
Changing the rear shock was a nice improvent for what I was after.
