I am trying to adjust the spring preload on the front shock of the skid frame on a '05 Rage. Anyone have any tips on the best way to do this without taking the skid frame out.
Also, I am trying to get my suspension adjusted to fit me. Not sure how much to adjust it. It is just a little too soft for me, doesn't take very much to bottom it out. I got the preload on the rear shock of the skid on the #5 setting (One stiffer than factory setting). I weigh about 250 without gear. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

mine is # 5 also rear shock and Med on the camber setting, clicker like on 12 of 17 clicks clockwise and front rear skid shock adjustment nut 3/4 way to stiffest setting this takes pressure off front skis enough for me...then I jacked up the front of my sled and have the adjustment nuts just tight enough so front springs wont chatter or be loose...I wiegh 185 with no gear on....And I think my sled rides like a little rocket in the trails no-one can hang with me so far..so adjust yours alittle stiffer in all areas and you should be good to go! Remember the Rage already comes with a stiffer spring in front than a vector and there is alot of pressure already in the shocks from the gas charge ...springs are basically there to assist and some bottoming is ok then you know your getting all you can from the travel ...but if you bottom too much then yes you need to make that area stiffer....Hope this helps you! 2,900 miles and I just love this sled!yamaha1 said:I am trying to adjust the spring preload on the front shock of the skid frame on a '05 Rage. yeah any information will help out. I am assuming when you say the "camber setting is on med" you are talking about the full rate adjustment that changes the angle of attack on the rear shock?
Thanks
Thanks

He is only 185 so the mid FRA setting is good for him, over 200 it should be set to hard
