Any after market A-arm kits available for the 08 Venture lites? I'm not finding anything, any suggestions?

I bought a sled that I should have spent more time going over, my fault, nice people, nice looking sled. Take a tape measure guys, after searching here I see its a weak link.

Well a bit persuasion, a little pinch bar and clamping and we're all straightened out again. I dropped the sway bar as per Karl and went riding. Well I'm new to sledding but have been quading and biking fro years. This one just feels right, and comfy. Way better for the family than my 1M 900. Kids love it.

Sorry I meant to say the A-arms are a weak link. I should have measured from the bolt at the top of tha A-arm back to the tube above the foot rest before I took the sellers word on "excellent condition". Mine was out 3/4 of an inch. I notice the caster was out on one ski mount and then took measurements leading me to the bent A-arm. I read on here the mounting bolt often shears too when you bend the A-arm and when I checked sure enough it was. I removed the lower arm and clamped it down and gently persuaded it with an 8lb hammer. Once I got the piping straightened out again I line up the two mounting holes with a large pinch bar by clamping it down and levering on it. I then narrowed the gap on the A hammering it down and maintained line up with the pinchbar. After putting the lower arm back on I could see the top arm was tweaked as well. I put a leather glove over the front of it and gave it a few whacks until the shock was centered and the caster matched side to side. Basically the rod end looked equal in the mount when I was done. Then I cut down a 3/8 spring center pin until I can get to a dealer to get a new bolt. Planning on taking my wife out tomorrow.

For anyone searching Venture lite A-arms in the future I found this quote from Karl in the mountain section:
the venture lite and mp are wider at the tunnel which means the fuel tank is wider and the engine room is wider as well. They have the same a-arms as the phazers with the exception of the mtx. The drive train is identical from a parts stand point as the phazers. They are considered to be a FX chasis

And the differences between the Venture Lite and MP are:
- Wider track (16")
- Wide VK style skis
- Wide and beefy front bumper
- no passenger seat standard (added as standard 2010)
- Lower gearing
- No mirrors
Good to know about the arms in case replacements are needed. I replaced the plastic bushings with Oilite bushings, getting rid of the slop there.

Hi Mike K, I don't know if you looked at the post on how I modified my MP. Search my posts - the timbersled barkbuster front a-arm kit for the phazer fits the vl/mp but narrows the ski stance to that of a phazer mt lite. I also mounted up phazer plastics so my mp looks like a phazer on steroids, just a little beefier all around. k

Well that explains why your machine changed from the blue colour that is my desktop background to the current red Yes I have read a lot of your guys posts on the venture lite since it doesn't have its own forum. It was easier to search all your posts for machine info than anything else. Seems there is about 5 active guys on here with lites and MP's.
My son was home sick from school today so I couldn't take my wife riding. I took my passenger seat off and went by myself. (two 10mm bolts on back cover, two 12mm bolts holding seat down) That seat feels like it weighs 25-30lbs. Managed to get caught on a tree in waist deep powder, backed up, unhooked my ski from the tree and it rode out, I was impressed. I saw my sled nicknamed the Blue bird after the Bus but I'm finding it does ok. The ride and seating position are amazing, it literally feels just like my King Quad. Also the 2up suspension carries me nicely being on the XL side. Of course I still only have less than 50kms so we'll see if my opinion changes. I'm watching for a 151+ 2 inch to swap on this summer for some more traction and possibly lower the gearing since I'm not a go fast guy. We'll see on the Gen II fat skis, I hear they make sidehilling quite difficult (not that I know how to yet). I'll be honest and say I'm mostly a sit down rider, I'll hang off if I need too but its not what I'm looking for. I think the 4x4 analogy is as slow as possible and as fast as necessary.

If you have followed my posts you will know I re-tracked and geared down. I would say the Gen II's are no problem. on side hill action I can have the one ski flying well off the snow and the other ski heel deep in the snow - counter steering is a skill you will need to understand. these are great sleds. put on the biggest track you are willing to steer to go with the Gen II's. and narrow the a-arms. just my two cents - I love my sled. Build it to suit the riding you do.
