I see that the 07 venture lite has Gas Cell Hydraulic shocks and the 07 has KYB® gas cell shocks. Is there much difference? How does the venture lite ride over rough trails?

I have an '07 with 4200 miles on it.
This is the most comfortable sled I have ever ridden. Period. Standing up or sitting. Period!
The ride was really plush, but too soft for rough trails, when I first got the machine.
So I stiffened the springs almost all the way, That stopped the bottoming, but the shocks did not have enough rebound dampening, so the sled started to bounce a liitle too much for my taste.
When I took my 1200 mile trip, I stuffed the cargo rack with more than 200 pounds of fuel, food, survival gear, camping equip...etc...ect...
Loaded sled with stiff springs was the best set-up I had all winter.
No bottoming, no bouncing, just perfect.
So... to answer you question, I would say that if you can get a better shock package, where you can control the dampening both ways, you will be all set.
The sled can handle it, but the cheap shocks cannot.
Hope this helps....
