when I asked them about the problems many of us are having with the rear suspension. After speaking with several Yamaha reps including the technical rep from Yamaha and none of them were the least bit familiar with the suspension. These guys seem to be totally focused on the new monoshock suspension. I spoke to several dealers in attendance as well. I was trying to find out if just upgrading the springs would be sufficient. No one seemed to be able to provide an informed response. Do I replace the springs, the shock, both, or the rear skid and just buy an M-10?

some of who you might think are Yami reps really are not they are from various dealers. and also Y must have a staff that goes around for shows and all these demo rides they seem to have. But again, may not be up to speed on a lot of things.

My dealer said they have alot of dealer tech training going on. Probably covering that right now would be my guess. Keep the faith, you just might be a 1/4 step ahead, they will catch up to where you are at LOL
Season is 2 months away for most of us yet. I'm sure everything will work out fine. Dealers are in the process of finishing out cycles and watercraft and just getting back into sled mode :D

Yamaha has responded rather quickly to the flaws in the 1st year mono shock suspension. The 06 version has addressed all of the first year problems. So what is the question? Did they already know these problems exsisted or were they real quick to responde to dealer claims?

How much do you weigh? You may need heavier springs.

Like Tork said, these reps are salesmen from dealerships and are not always up to speed.

Let me guess, they never heard of any problems right? Just like when the 03 RX1 were having over heating problems, never heard of such a thing. My question is why do they always come up with a fix? I'm glad they do, just sometimes I think Yamaha has us as consumers do the R&D thing. Of course Yamaha still makes the best sleds.

I wieght 175+ gear. Most of my problems resulted from the cable breakage. I was 3/4 thru a big trip when when the rear suspension went away. Still 500 trail miles away from our destination and no dealer available to look at it, my only option is to ride it back.
Apparently when the cable breaks it has a tendency to dail the shock back to the softest setting and easily bottom. All this bottoming breaks parts. I cranked up the spring and tried to ride it as easy as I could.
