YVX secondary mod installed.
Since cleaning secondary other day I’ve had clicking/chatter from what seems like directly under tank. Distinctive at 30-35km/h. Clear and consistent.
At 100 cruising or accelerating to 130 the vibration I can feel in my feet. When I squeeze tunnel with feet I can feel as well.
It feels like it’s in secondary. It’s not robbing performance or speed from what I can tell. Other variable is the new belt, broken in properly.
I’ve riding maybe 200 kms or so and it has slightly gotten worse.
Pulled my secondary (YVX MOD) not stock to be clear.
Things I noticed was the amount of play in the bi metal bushing/shaft on the inside sheave (closest to motor) Don’t remember it having that much. Taking the helix and inspection of the bushing (which is the same part number as inside sheave hushing) I can clearly see a bevel to it. Inside sheave there is now Bevel. Assuming it’s worn out.
Have parts on way today and will post if it fixed issue or not.
New buttons installed 8ER-17688-00
Bi metal bushings 90384-38243
^YVX off an 04 RSVector
Noticing brake pads were paper thin I will have those on as well but see no evidence of caliber being hung up causing the chatter.
Part no: 8GC-W0045-00
Anything else I can be looking at I may have overlooked??
Measure the pics of sheaves pinched together then pulled apart by hand just to show play. Also helix bushing shows some new rough spots in it. Can feel the gouges.

Cover one is for sure wore. The bimetal one although scratched doesnt look to be wore. How about the upper wheels? Could that be causing the vibration?

They don't look wore very much. I check these with the spring out and clutches bolt together. IMO you need to see the Teflon coating gone in order to consider replacing.

Zipped over to a buddies who had the tool and press to put them in. Helix he said not bad at all. We didn’t change. Inner sheave borderline but we changed it. Probably not the problem. Took a whole two mins. Pop out. Slide in.
I’ll be checking track clips. He gave me clips and tool to clip install the 3 missing.
Wheels, he said same thing, check those.
Driver and driver bearings he’s leaning towards. May have hit something and knicked a driver or bearing may be going out.
May have even been those thin brake pads. Will have new ones on later anyway. Paper thin right now.
Might venture out tonight but most likely in morning for test unless I find issue while in there tonight.

Probably not your brakes. Mine inner pad was gone and all i noticed was slight scraping sound when going downhill.

I’m with ya there. No signs of major heat up or stuck caliper. New pads installed.
I put everything back together. The 1/8” play in secondary turned into 1/16. Don’t think that was it. Either way was a maintenance item I didn’t mind doing.
Taking a really good look at track I have incling I found issue. TRACK CLIPS/track
I have 4 missing on throttle side. And 9 broken ones as well. By broken I mean a piece broke off closest to outside of the track. Pic. It’s interesting that most of the missing and cracked ones are the guide clips. Brake side they’re all there and in good shape. Thicker too. With the track I’ve noticed some serious bulges and spots that have even wore away. Possible frozen wheel ?!?
Tomorrow when out I’ll stop for abit, let track get cold and feel the bumps are hard. Frozen up causing that vibration. Wasn’t that bad last grease up 5-600 kms ago.

UPDATE
425km trip today and not a single vibration at speed. Secondary bushing I’m going to say was definitely it. (Helix I left alone)
I do, however, still have that 30km/h clicking. Sounds like in clutch side. Going to check primary in morning.
What a ride today!! First time out by the MB/ON border.
