viper chain case????

Best thing too push of a button and i am in reverse!!!:):) Every time, Works wayyyyy better than any yamaha reverse i have ever owned...rx1....Apex....Nytro.... lots of time i had to put feet on ground and pull sled back and rock it.... to get lever over....

C'mon >> Yamaha Approved ! just gears ,chain ,bearings.muffler down right next to the chaincase, warmer gear oil.less drag than any apex, nytro, etc rear exit exhaust :moon: YAMAHA #1 Blows all others away! :die Yamaha probably were riding these sleds couple years ago and we thought they were Artic cats! Testing ? :dunno:

I love the rear exhaust other then that I agree problem been testing for years this is not aniver night decision but yamaha. Gotta trust them for now.

Yamaha rocks and Cat does too in lots of ways guys!! Going to be alot of fun to come!!!:):):)

I can't say much about Yamaha chain cases. Had my bolt back out twice and go through the chain case. First one was on warranty with 800km on it never had it apart. Second one just went on me. Bolt was loctited and torqued second time. Maybe I'm just unlucky. Hope the new one has all the bugs fixed on it that cat had. 2 cats I ride with never had any trouble.

Well how is this? I took the photo today at the show.

BTW, I asked and it is made by Cat as is the jackshaft, driveshaft etc.

do I see 2 chains there???? also finally and auto chain tensioner

It will be probably be just fine and if you are really worried about a first year product then take out a 3 year YES plan when you purchase.

Yes as to Yamaha specs on anything Cat made. That's what they are telling people at the show.

What about the 180 degrees exhaust, seems very unusual, as long as the exhaust shuold have been without to musch resistance.

One thing I noticed was the small and recessed button for reverse. On one of the youtube videos it looked like the guy was having a hard time getting it pushed with gloves on too.

Sorry the photo is a little blurry from blowing it up.

All the better to add a turbo........next year of course.

I asked a rep about the jack shaft last night at the show and he said it was a cat shaft modded for our clutches. On the secondary side the main difference was that it was only splined say about two inches compared to the standard say three to four inches, of couse I'm just estimating those lengths, but the splined length is defiantly shorter.

The recessed reverse button is not an issue with gloves, maybe if you wear mittens but otherwise it's not a big deal. The Doo one, while easy to push, i bumped it probably 4 times, crazy thing is that it actually stopped the engine and went into RER, once while I was crossing a road.

The grip heater controls are far better as well, one down side is that depending on the angle you set them at, you may find yourself bumping them to the center position (off) when standing. There is a gaurd that is an acessory but you have to glue it on. To me much more simple design and a quick feel of the button tells you if they are on high/low or off, no need to look at a gauge while riding down the trail. I actually prefer the simple design of the Cat controls over the complex (much more expensive) of the Yamaha.
