looking for a viper exaust (can) that will not bring any codes up. Lived with 2 strokes all my life and had cans on all of them. No there is not a stupid noise law around here. Wanting a can with no codes coming up. Thank you!!

What we need is a thread about exhaust for the Viper. Super fantastic idea!

I just got the mbrp can. works good and no codes.

Super-q is nice. I have had no codes in 1500 miles with it on. Its definitely louder than stock. Some say it Its loud, but not the loudest out there ggb mountain can probably takes the cake on that. I consider a jet engine loud so my opinions. Don't matter much just ask canondale27.

If you like loud exhaust that's fine, what's not 'fine' is that in some places loud cans close trails. Forever. And that's not good for anyone. I personally like exhausts that are little on the loud side but I keep my exhaust stock because I ride in lots of built up areas. Someday I'd like to ride those trails with my kids, so I try to keep the sled as quiet as possible. I think that's what cannondale was trying to relay the other day.

Yes ok people. Trespassing is the number one reason trails get closed.

Maybe in your area, but not in New England. Noise. Hippies hate the noise. If the hippies hear the noise they close their property to outside use; it's their land, and riding on private land is a privilege, not a right. 97% of Vermont's trail system is on private land, and if those private land owners don't like loud sleds, they close their property. Does trespassing play a role? Yes, but the most recent trials closures in my area have been due to loud sleds waking up land owners after hours.

I don't want to hijack this thread on aftermarket exhausts and turn it into a noise debate. Different parts of North America's riding areas have different issues. VT hates loud sleds. That's a fact. R71 out.

I ride on state trails and state grant add trails. Might pass one or two homes in 100s of miles. The trails I ride on will never get closed because without the snowmobiles and ice fisherman most businesses wouldn't survive. but I appreciate your concerns.

In other words the only people to hear me and complain about the noise would be business owners ( resorts and gas stations) would lose their business because they depend on the income snowmobiling brings to the area. So they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Where I ride we post signs that say
(Stay on trail or you will lose it)
Maybe they should change it to say.
No loud exhaust or you will lose it.
