My take on 2014 sleds as I have rode all 4 brands at the same place same day. (please don't say back in 1978 Doo was better etc)

Viper - most exciting, anxious to test this weekend with 153 powerclaw track and 38 inch front end
M8 close to as exciting as Viper. Sidehills better than Viper due to narrower front end. Lacks the instant take off of the Viper
Polaris Pro - rougher riding than the other three, but leans well. Not smooth enough for me
Ski Doo - boring, and don't go over 40mph on a rutted trail....darts worse than a Phazer

Just my opinion please don't flame me add to this post your thoughts with your opinions. I meant this post to inform not insult so please do add your real life experience on any 2014 you have rode. We all ride different style different places so add how you felt about your ride. No wrong answers as long as we don't turn this thread into a bash fest........

If this instead belongs in head to head please do go ahead and move it.

Love my viper! Have had a decent amount of seat time on an xf7000 to know how they act compared to the viper. Power seems all the same however head to head the viper is more torquey and faster. Cat seemed to transfer weight better and ride was a little more plush (shock valving?) 2014 renegade 800 etec. Suspension was very plush but it bottomed out easy for me. I'm sure simple adjustment would have helped that. Very typical 2 stroke. Made great power once it was revved up but I couldn't drive any brand 2 stroke after owning the yami 4 strokes. Haven't been on a Polaris in prolly 10 years. Don't have any interest in even riding them as they are ugly as sin. I'm sure all new sleds perform awesome just some better in some areas.

Viper

Interesting - your experience has been the polaris pro-r is a poor ride. I recently dumped my nytro for poor rear suspension and lack of adequate travel. It appeared the pro-r had a ton of travel and would be comfortable but obviously I have not demo one.

Yeah maybe that was not fair on the Polaris as both my Nytros had timbersled front and rear with Fox Floats. I will edit that.

Im hoping to get some seat time on my buddies 14 switchback Pro-R this weekend. Just sitting on it, it feels so much more plush than my viper. My buddy who rode both my sled and my other buddies Pro-R back-toback said he thinks the Pro-R is hands down better than my Viper, which felt like a brick to him.

I came off a SB Pro R last year..... It feels lighter in a straight line but the steering is actually heavier and it LOVES to lift the inside ski. Power (assuming an 800) is great but I still like my Viper better.

I can see the brick comparison though.. my buddies still have their SBPR's and kind of say the same thing when I let them ride the Viper...but I think it's just the extra weight.

I rode a rush pro r 2013 so pretty much the same as 2014. I have around 10 hours on one. It was set up for a little smaller rider, but it was pretty plush. It took bigger bumps really nice, maybe better than the Viper, but I also have the Viper set up really stiff. The power was ok not really impressed with that. My friend and I switched rides as he rode my Nytro. We raced several times with the Nytro winning every time. The Nytro was not stock, but neither was the rush. Two things I hate and one is darting and the other is inside ski life which the rush had both! So it was fun and jumped great I would choose the Viper. I test rode a 2014 ski doo tnt 800 e tec with r motion. Was not happy sitting on that thing very uncomfortable and the light switch was always hitting my thumb. Didn't really notice anything with the r motion, but we were on pretty smooth trails. Didn't get the chance to jump it. I did like the ski pressure. That's about the only thing I liked. The speed was good, but, but not overly impressed. So with my two cents worth I'll take the Viper. It might not be the fastest or handle big bumps the best, but it's pretty good all around and it is the best looking sled on the snow!! Hands down!
