viper millage storage

i have heard that on the viper the millage is stored in the ecu and not the cluster as in with previous yamahas. meaning you can change the cluster all you want but the millage will be that of the sleds ecu when you plug it in.

Had the cluster changed on my zr 7000 miles where zero the only thing that stayed was the hours.

I don't think that's true. I had a blown fuse last year and my guage cluster was out for a day and when I got it working again it had the same mileage on it as when it went out. If anyone wonders what fuse it is, it's the brake light fuse, go figure.

Thats the same cluster. When you get a new cluster like i had to the miles are zero.

I got a new cluster on mine and the miles are correct. Im not sure if the dealer programmed it in or it is in the ECU

All I saw the new gauge reads 0. Hrs are stored in ECU. We always write the original mileage on back of gauge with a engraver.

Just had my gauge replaced the mileage shows 0 but the hours remained which was stored on ecu.
