Viper RTX SE or Viper LTX SE?

so i am a beginner to snowmobiling. started out with a used 2 stroke (Polaris Edge Classic)
im hoping to buy a brand new Viper. I live in New York state. most of my riding will be in the Old Forge, Lake Placid area. which model would u guys recommend for me? ?

Total comfort issue. Do u prefer just cruising? If so ltx. If your more I to ditch banging and riding hard then the rtx, it sounds in all honesty tho like you would fit the ltx more. It gives you but longer track so it would ride bit better and with old forge and placid being well kept trail systems and u being new rider I'm assuming you won't be putting the sled through its paces that a lot of the rtx crowd would.

I think you can't go wrong with ether one. But then again why would you pay $350 more for ltx..

well as soon as I get the loan $350 is only going to make the monthly payment a few bucks more, I won't even notice it.

fxnytrortxkid I agree with u LTX is better for long nicely groomed trails, or even if they aren't that groomed but just in pretty good condition I think I'm still leaning to the RTX. the trails in Old Forge get pounded alot by other snowmobilers and become pretty rough at times and I think the RTX becomes better for then, plus shorter track will be better for turns and twistties. this is just my opinion tho.

The shorter the track the rougher the ride on worn out trails. My 151" RX1 rides like a Cadillac on the high travelled trails.

Yes the LTX rides a bit nicer, I rode all 3 and will allow you to play a little better off trail. I think it is going to prove to have better resale when time to upgrade (more desirable). The XTX is a little different animal because the rear skid is an uncoupled design and tends to left the nose more under acceleration taking away from ski pressure in the turns.

The new ripsaw 2 will work better off trail than the ripsaw 1, even on the 128.

I would vote LTX SE. Still will handle like a short track in tight trails and bridge bumps better.

Why not the regular base model Viper?? Don't have to mess with air adjust front shocks, a real windshield and you save $500. Might be a bit more supple ride over those studder bumps in Old Forge with the shock package on it (yes I have ridden there with my cousins). I always buy a shortie that's just me. I would say unless you are more off than on go for the 128 and as others have said that Ripsaw 1 and 1/4 in the 128 will surprise a lot off trail this year.
