ltx se wont softehn up with miles the sled is super stiff

Not sure what you weigh. I hear the rear springs are way to stiff for most. Unless you weigh over 300 lbs. I hear the Cats are coming through with lighter rate rear springs. Sounds like the valving is too stiff as well.


Cats are same. Identical suspension.

LTX SE does loosen up with time. Just changed to Hygear rear suspension and I can push the rear of the sled down easily 4" with one hand with springs adjusted to full soft. It took about 130 miles of shock break in to get to this point. My sled had 787 miles when I changed shocks. I haven't adjusted compression or rebound yet, I'm waiting to insure shocks are fully broke in before I start tuning. The rear end now gobbles up 2 foot closely spaced moguls with ease and as always flies straight and softly over the bigger moguls/small hills with enough speed to fully air the suspension.
I'm going to have to do some adjusting to the front shocks they are a bit soft but I believe there is enough adjustability that this is not an issue.
Get your shocks revalved and rebuilt by a reputable house and you will have similar results if you weigh north of 200 pounds.

Well I hit the trails pretty good last Saturday putting on just over 300 kms on a run from North Bay to just North of Temagami and back again. I listened to the advice given and this is what I did:
4" carbides on the inside
3" carbides on the outside
Pulled the limiter strap one hole from loose
Adjusted the track alignment to be perfect. ( had moved a little with only 180 km)
Adjusted the track tension to the recommended 2"
Front fox shocks were set at 70lbs
Slight adjustment to skid frame front arm..(not to sure what I'm doing in this department yet)
Moved adjusting cam to position 2.
These changes made a huge difference for me. Way better coming in and out of the tighter corners then before. I found that keeping my weight up front with some leaning into style of riding holding a little more speed entering the corner with a more aggressive throttle exiting the corner was some of the best riding I've done in years on any sled. It almost seems the slower I went the more push the sled would have. Once again thanks for the advice guys.
