For those of you that spent the weekend posting on here instead of out in the white stuff, I have to report we had a great showing at the TY ride in Houghton/Hancock this weekend.

There were many versions of the 2014 VIPER Present and a cool mix of N/A and boosted models. It was great shakedown for everyone and I think we are starting to see what these things are capable of.

I went with only 150 miles on the clock and those were done on the worst trails MN had to offer just trying to dial in the Evol RC2's and getting a feel for the sled. Getting to a place with actual snow and groomers was fantastic!

As in everything new there is a learning curve and what works for one does not always work for others. All in all I am now totally pleased with the feel and ride of this sled. It is a different beast than the Pro R 800's I have been on and pulls (with turbo) harder than anything I have ever ridden. It flies with grace, lands with kindness and plays well it the fields. On the straight rail grades it hits 100 mph in seconds and comes back down with ease. With dual 6" carbides it tracks well with NO DARTING! and is very stable. The seat is compfy and transition from sitting to standing is not taxing on my knees. I can ride it for 20 miles straight standing up or sitting down. I approached many a bump at 80+ that caused me to say UH-OH in my helmet but it ate them like they were a figment of my imagination.

I am still struggling with ski pressure on the XTX but have dialed out the front rear suspension shock quite a bit and now am very close. Now it needs a bit more air in the rear fox float.

With over 400 miles on her now she has become a different sled than the delivered setup and is a few turns away from being a 400 mile day sled.

I watched YamahaTim take her up an embankment and jump her back down on the trail while getting a minimum of 4' of altitude and it looked like something out of sled necks

What a good trip. My LTX is bone stock. On a twisty trail with about 2-3" of surface snow I can rip through the woods like its on rails!

YamaTim has some serious PSI in his Floats?

Ya I have them set at 95 pounds. Was thinking about maybe 100 psi. Don't want to bottom out when I jump.

That's awesome guys! I for one cannot wait to ride mine!!! This weekend in Canada for a week.

That would be cool! Have fun...to me I really like this sled. Works good in everything I do. Handles great. Jumps great, boondocks well good through the powder good.

Yamatim - what kind of c&a skis do you have ? I have the c&a pro razors with 6inch carbides and I feel they grab to hard in the tight trail and I have to keep checking my skis up(so I won't over steer) and I feel it's slowing me down a lot when I'm riding hard just wondering what ones u have

I have the XTX's with 8 inch carbide. I think they are 7 1/4 inches wide. They handle great on trail and float real good in powder. Not as aggressive as yours in the trail. Maybe try tightening your front skid shock to take away some ski pressure and that might help.

Yeah until you let off the flipper and bury it and just wait for Apex and me to come to the rescue :o|

Well trying to jump over the trail from what seemed like 3-4 feet of snow and over the trail on the other side was a lot deeper and ya I let off a little to do a power turn and got caught in waist high snow and not really ready for it. So I needed some help getting her out. But with just a little bit of help she climbed out and got me back to the trail. It is still great off trail, just don't let off the throttle in waist high snow. Oh and remember to avoid the trees...lol
