How do you adjust a bov for a s/c attak at 10 psi? Probably the same as any other psi, but I want to make sure it is set properly. Thanks.

I think you don't need to touch it at all. It will open on 1.5 hpc vacuum.

Mine was out of adjustment. How do I test it or set it? If I need to buy a vacuum pump or other special tool, that is fine. I just would like to know if anyone has tried this and I know alot of people use these. How many threads are showing above the jam nut on the spring adjuster?

Do you have a boost meter that reads vacuum? My autometer does, and the Vortech opens instantly as soon as pressure changes to vacuum, at about 1.5 hPg of vacuum. It comes adjusted to open at 1.5 hPg from the factory.

Will have to measure....

Thanks RX, I just bought an aem gigital boost meter and I believe it does measure vacuum. Ill have to see when it arrives. Also, has anyone done repairs or rebuilt one of these? I bought the diaphram, the piston, and o-ring, as I thought these might be parts that would wear out.

Get in touch with Ted Jannetty at www.turboaddictionparts.com, he's a member on here so you could PM him, he knows the Vortech Bypass valves.

I could measure bolt length showing above the lock nut next time out in the Turbo Garage :-)

I had a problem with the oring on the bottom of the piston on my Vortec. It got vapor in the inlet, with is normal, and when I shut my sled off it froze and pulled the oring off. Big leak. I fired it back up and notice 5lbs boost and no bov noise. Put yamabond on one side and a little grease on the other and so far so good.

With the vortech, set it to the lightest position, meaning as many threads out as you can and still get the lock nut to bite. You want the smallest amount of vacuum to open the valve.

On a side note, use some type of gasket adhesive to seal the orings up. I notice the same thing as OPEL.

Other then that No issues, no matter what boost level you run. works great everytime.

The Proper Proceedure for setting in the field is this if someone already messed with it.

If you take it out of the box yourself Don't touch it.

With the engine Off, Losen the lock nut, back the stud out (Counterclockwise) until lose, lightly turn it in (Clockwise) until you feel it touch, go 1 full turn tighter, then lock the nut.

Ted.
