Just bought a set of extro drivers for my 09 nytro that has the OFT 144 extention kit. Do I need to cut the rails on the regular shorty and run anti stab wheels or is this just for the XTX running the extros? Also, should I remove the outer drivers and just run the extros (is there any disadvantage to leaving them on)?
Thanks

What size is the drive shaft on a 09 standard nytro? I'm just about to order wahl extros and I want to make sure my callipers are right. I'm getting a hair under 1.125" or inch and an 8th. Is that right?

And - Just run the extros, no need to cut rails and I dont run any anti stab.

Should I press them on dry and room temp or is anyone heating them up in water and leaving the shaft in the cold? I have a nice press but I've never installed drivers. Thanks

Little shot of WD makes it a touch easier, but its not needed. They actually do get a touch hot when you do it dry.
Use a scribe line to make your measurements - pen/pencil will wipe right off.
Mark the center between the 2 inner drivers, measure center of track window to track window
and then subtract half the width of the new driver from half the window/window measurement and thats it! (the measurements are also poster around different threads depending what drivers you use)
Pretty straight forward.

How much force does is required to press on the drivers? I have a small arbor press and was thinking of doing it myself but then I can also send the shaft out to performance shop and have it done there.. Just trying to get an idea..

It takes quite a bit, but any half #*$&@ actual press should be able to get them.
I was helping a buddy do his polaris a couple weeks back and we tried to cut corners on adjusting the press - so pressing against the floor rather then the table - it was lifting the press and the 2 of us off the ground +600 lbs? without budging the drivers. haha

I was thinking about heating up the drivers in hot water to expand them a bit and put the shaft in the snow for install might make the job a little easier. Won't hurt to try anyway and a little WD never hurt anyone. I'll try your measure off center technique, should work out fine
