I know of the handlebar heater complaints, especially on the Apex. I fixed my Apex and no complaint on the Vector. My problem is I have frost bitten my hands, especially my throttle thumb too many times. I don't place my thumb directly on the warmer, but like many, I'm sure, I squeeze mostly at the base of my thumb, which leaves the thumb tip hanging down not touching the warmer. My warmer gets so hot it has to be turned down, but no help to the thumb tip.
Okay all said and done I bought a pair of electric glove liners I wear under my riding gloves. I chose the Venture model and tried with direct voltage with no temperature controller. Believe me they got too hot. Now using the optional controller. Bingo warm hands and thumbs. Not necessary even at
-20*F to use the onboard Yamie heaters. Should have gone this route years ago. Maybe not a common problem, but if you suffer like I have, Hello!
