my warrior with 10k miles hates cold starts... started acting like this at about 8k miles. once she catches it bumbles and I have to use the throtte to keep it going. I just had the carbs cleaned and synced and stil does it at intial start up, but fine when warm. I was wondering could bad plugs do this? I changed them last year and didnt check gap, so maybe this is the problem.. any tips on best plug to run and what gap?

thanks

probably not gap related. I would be curious as to compression numbers cold, and compression hot. Choke cable adjusted correctly?

Never checked choke cable...how would one adjust it?

My sled was acting up and it was indeed the plugs on one machine. The sled with the stock plugs were fouled the other with the cr10ek's started and ran just fine.

I hope not just for sake of cash.... I will check the choke and make sure that it is working properly first and then move to the plugs if need be... Just weird as I baby the thing year round so this shouldnt happen you know...oh well hope it's nothng and will find out this weekend when I get to camp.

valve adjustment had 2 do 2 rx1s at 10000 miles

so your saying you saw these same symptoms??

so I went up to camp and here is what happened.... I checked for choke connection and movement which looked fine... moved it back and forth a few times. then gave the gas a couple flips and she started right up, but once it runs rough with the choke full on I put it on half like always, but it still doesnt want to run smoothly. it's like the idle is too low and stumbles. I have to use the throttle to keep her going and then after say a minute she runs normal..next day I changed my plugs which looked nice coco brown to the double tip ones and it still does it. what is going on?

Who cleaned your carbs? You could have some more dirt in them or the jets were not fully cleaned.
Have you checked or cleaned your coils?
clean them with some brake clean or contact cleaner.

buddy who works a dealership did my carbs so they should be fine, but still a possibility. He synched them too. my coils are not original, but used set that were better than my set that were giving a light show. I can spray some cleaner in, but is there a way to check them for performance? they fit pretty tight.

Sounds like valves to me. My 4 stroke bike did the same thing. Cold starts were a bugger, once warm it was fine. did a valve job and right back to normal again. Hope not for your sake but thats what it sounds like to me.
