Took my 04 Warrior out for the 1st time today and I noticed it was running a little rough in the 5k - 7k rpm range. Wide open it cleaned out and ran normal and it idled normal. I did hear some popping coming from the engine almost like a little backfiring into the airbox. Ideas?

Clean the carbs! :exc:

I suspect that they are right. Clean the carbs. Then if you still have a prblem, check your TORS adjustment. But it sounds like Carbs.

Looking at the service manual it looks like breaking down the carbs is a pretty indepth procedure. How involved is it and how much time should it take to disassemble?

When you stored it did you use a Fuel Stabilizer?

If you have not done the carbs before, take it to someone who has and watch. Once you have seen it done, it is easy. It just takes time. But, seriously, check out the TORS setting. Also, if you use stablizer in the fuel, you typically do not have carb problems.

I work on anything and everything, I even hate getting into the carbs.

It's actually pretty easy. The worst part is breaking the screws free on the float bowls. Buy/borrow a 'impact hammer' for doing this.
