warrior vibration@50mph

Guys my 04 warriror with 10k miles has developed a fairly nasty footwell and handlebar vibration starting @ 50-53mpn and then up. Nothing @ 40 mph or slower. I have looked for ice and don't sewe anything. My speedo bearing appears to be fine. My wheels are all in tact. My chain case bearings are new, but chain is original. One thing I did see as odd is the seconmdary on the belt side has about 3 or so inches of left and right rotational play. What could be up? Is my chain bad? Thoughts please..

the secondary will normally move back and forth, moreso if you have reverse. check chain tension, finger tight and back off one quarter turn. as for the vibration check the belt for missing chunks or abnormal wear. check all driveline bearings and also the driveshaft, a slight tweak or bend will cause vibrations.

Thanks for the tips....this started after riding in a foot of powder and then we saw arctic temps for a few days. I have not hit anything so I can't imagine I bent the driveshaft, but how would I be able to tell? Also I just checked chain tension and it's fine,but only has. 5 or 6 threads left to turn.

You might have a chunk of ice that formed on the driveline or up in the tunnel. Try bringing it in the garage and thawing it out. The go flog it again.

that's what happened right before my drive axle broke. They break on the chain case side right next to or almost underneath the first plastic drive cog. Inspect it closely for a crack in that area you might have to slide the locking collar out of the way to see it .

if it doesnt do it untill you hit 50, then it has nothing to do tensioner or shaft, my checks would the front end bearings and or shocks. do you feel it the handlebars? if it were other items it would do it at all speeds, especially belt or shaft. 10k is quite a few miles on suspension, no big deal for motor. My shaft broke on a small jump on the speedo bearing side.

Just give the secondary a check to see if you have all three buttens still in place.

great ideas guys... suspension is almost melted down. I did find 2 bent pics... I bent that was it. you think?
