......yah laid a to tight of a carve and kind of fell off. My sled was sitting there sideways in the snow, looked down at the side that was in the air and noticed my shaft just barely hanging there attached to my ski but slid almost all out of the spindle.Managed to get it back up in place, but is that upper clamp all that holds the shaft from coming out? You'd think there'd be a keeper or something! I did'nt have chance to look at it again here at home,It also could have had something maybe to do with me hitting a rock last week and breaking that ski.

Unless something broke, or someone didn't tighten the bolt, that can't happen. It's a nylock nut.

I heard of this happining on an 03, the spindle came right out over a knoll and the guy wrecked the sled upon landing!!! It wasn't even his sled!!!

Ken, when mine came off in the avalanche the bolt on that arm that is on top of the spindle was still very tight. I guess if there hit just right they pull the spindle right through that arm?

?loosened the bolt put it back together cranked it up tight no more problem.i did hit a rock or ice chunk HARD with that ski earlier that day.may have stretched the bolt or clamp just enough to slip by.there is not allot of surface area holding that deal together.
