I'm looking to add an Auto Meter water temp gauge 12v and was seeing if the stock sending unit (at the reservoir) would read correctly with the Auto Meter??
I want to wire it so both stock and Auto Meter work.
Adapters?

I, don't think it will. The stock sender is set to activate the warning light at a certain temp, not to register a range of temps like your guage.

I don't know think splicing on the stock one would work, I think that one is just open or closed.
I got a fitting and spliced into the coolant line before the thermostat at the top of the engine.
