Hey guys I had some weight savings ideas, what do you think? How much perfomance will I gain?

1.) cut one inch off of my snow flap or even shave the the flap thinner.

2.) fill the rear bumper with helium. Maybe the handle bars too, what do you guys think?

3.) remove the seat and install banana seat from a bicycle.

4.) remove the exhaust completely, sure it will be loud, but think of the weight savings.

5.) remove one toe and one finger from each foot and hand, hey, what about removing my teeth, and a complete body shave like the swimmers?

6.) ride naked or with just some light weight sweats, cold sure, but again think of the weight savings.

7.) remove the windshield completely, hell why not remove all of the un-necassary plastic like the hood, body side panels tool kit, breather, and plus any other stuff I really don't need like braking system, mirrors, head and tail lights, plus all wiring that doesnt operate the motor. I could probably rewire the thing with a smaller gauge wire, that should shave off a half an ounce.

8.) trim toenails

9.) don't eat any breakfast or lunch, or even don't eat at all for at least a week before each ride, and don't forget about EXLAX

10.) don't carry a tow rope or a cell phone with me to help stranded fellow riders should save like a ounce or two.

So what do you guys think? How much weight savings could I achieve if I did all of these? How about performance? Could I beat the Mach Z if I do all of these?

Any other ideas to save weight would be appreciated.

Please respond.

And don't tell me to do a search or check the FAQ's

Indy,

I'm glad that you are FINALY starting to think like a mountain rider!! It's about time you wised up!

The only one that doesn't sound good for the mountains is number 9. You need the extra body weight for leverage.

As for number 6...... If you are riding hard you should be plenty warm enough to not need clothes. At least that is what I keep telling my wife.

Sheesh Indy, first you wanna chrome everything and now you wanna save weight??? You know the chrome is gonna add like 3.6 ounces to your sled, Sheesh..........................................Cubby

One time I was out riding thought the sled was a little slower than usual..At the next coffee stop I realized why..I had left change in my pocket from the last restaurant. Forgot to throw it away. Extra 1.2 oz..Won't do that again.. :o| :o|

You forgot to cut off all the excess bolts sticking out past the nuts. Remove the flap it just gets sucked in the tunnel anyway. That will save you some money for more helium for the A-arms and arms in the rear skid. Also if you can get bulk Helium, why not drill and tap a hole on the Delta box frame. Thread in a valve like on shock resevoirs and fill the frame with helium too. ;)!

Well since I had a vasactomy, if I take my big balls out, that would save 10 lbs. LOL Maxdlx

LOL

You could donate a Kidney, that's got to be worth 5 or 6 lbs.??? I don't think you need your apendix, if you still have it, or tonsils, and if you clean your ears, and wipe your back-side real good after taking a dump, you should save even more. Oh yeah, and make sure you blow your nose, and you may even have to excavate once and a while. :drink:

Oh and don't forget the additional weight savings your wife or girlfriend can help you with.

Don't forget your spline and gall bladder. they are useless too. maxdlx

Hell, if your gonna do the banana seat, sh#tcan the engine, gearbox, and clutches and pedal the SOB. Go Fred Flintstone style. I know this sounds crazy, but the HP to weigth ratio might actually be better............
