Does adjusting weight transfer to min. on the mono shock make for a "softer"ride overall?

I wouldguess not, you use the center shock preload sooner in the travel which will be compressed more and feeling stiffer.

You can set your preload softer and the remote adjuster a little harder. If you set the remote to full soft it will make the ride worse as the valve is wide open and only the spring is used to hold back the weight and nothing restricts the shock from comming back up harsh.
When at full hard the valve is restricted and the shock is harder to compress and rebound is smooth.
I find that 4 clicks back from full hard makes for a very smooth ride. I am 215lbs on an attak and my settings are preload to max, remote to 4 clicks back from full hard and transfer to twelve threads showing. Very nice ride, hope this helps.

Min makes the suspension a little stiffer. It couples the suspension quicker. Mine handles and rides better with the transfer set at or near min. Don't dragrace like this because you will spin too much!!! It's all a trade off.

I set min 1/2 way between standard (middle) and soft. I don't race anyone so The weight transfer isn't important to me... I feel this is a good compromise between ride and handling. Less weight transfer keeps the ski's planted for turning.

I've owned these sleds since late '05 and I still find reading the measurement a challenge. Does the reading of min/max take place at the body of the rod where the lock nut "locks" against it, or is the measurement taken at the front of the lock nut next to the exposed threads?

I would say no. In fact, the ride may seem to be a bit stiffer with no transer. I ride my Attak with zero transfer. It gives it more a slot car feel. I personally like it better.

So in this example from the manual, the setting on the above picture would be right at the center of the measurement, right? If that's correct, the measurement is then taken at the rod body itself?

That's how I see it. ;)!

Yes what is shown in the pic is the standard length... right in the middle. Like I said I usually set mine for 1/2 way between standard and minimum. Like super sled said this improves handling because more weight is on the front.

ok i need a lil help here....just bought another apex and noticed that transfer set all the way to MIN....which one is adjuster....do i turn the one which is facing toward front of sled or one towards back....i wanna set it MAX, so which direction do i go clockwise or counter....i feel stupid askin this but im confused , it seems very hard to turn and i dont want snap anything...also do i leave sled on ground or in the air?

ok nevermind ....figured it out....what happens if i make it to max....would the sled be to uncontrollable? or should i just leave it in middle?....i like to have ski lift but not too much where i also cant steer the sled. could i leave it between middle and max or is that still much where there would be too much ski lift?

When sled like to ratcheting. Do transfer rod loosen the track under preassure then setting min-max?

Trial and error my friend, trial and error. You need to bring your tools with you out to the trail and try it out. Then go with where you like it the best for your riding.

You maybe will even adjust it from time to time for the type of riding you plan on doing that particular day.
