Here is whats done to the sled.

06 wth 6k miles 1.75 track , down a tooth to 22, yosh rs3 pipe, digital temp gauge.

I have over 150 miles on this setup. But tonight we came to a road crossing and I waited for everyone for about 30 sec. Then I hit the throttle and it fell on its face. I started it and it died, so I started it another two time. The last time I had to give it throttle so get it to run and stay running. We got home 2 min latter and I stopped and the ! light came on and the fan turned on. But the digital temp gauge was only at 168. I cycled the headlights ( no reason ) and it turned the light off. I backed the sled into the garage and shut it off. I started it up and the same thing it idled really rough. So rough in fact if I pop the throttle it would die. But if I feather the throttle it will rev up.

What am I missing..... is it bad gas?????

Drive shaft bearing (speedo sensor)
T.o.r.s.
TPS (throttle position sensor)

Beyond that if you've done any rerouting or work on the sled check the wire harnesses in that area. Any codes flash? I'm assuming not since no mention of it.

That drive shaft bearing (speedo sensor) can be a tricky one.
Really ruined my day once last year. The sled would sit and idle perfect until you tried to move or even touched the seat and then it would die right out. Try unplugging it and see if the problem exists. If it goes away change the bearing out.

No codes but the ( ! ) warning light came on like I said when I parked in the driveway. But it went back off after I turned the low beams to high then back to low ( no reason for doing that it just seemed like a good idea at the time ) and then the ( ! ) light went off.

With the yosh pipe, is the sled now realizing that it needs more fuel at idle?

EDIT the Bold in my initial post.

After thinking more about it. I think when I came to the crossing the sled died on its own. And with the other sleds arriving behind me I didnt hear mine die. and it took 50% more cranking time then normal to get it started again.

From what I have read you can either do exhaust mod or air box mod without needing a fuel programmer. But once you do both you are going to need a PC or somthing like that.... am I correct???

Yes it makes it lean in spots.

just seems like mine acted when coolant was low would be easy to check just to be sure

well I guess I will do the paper clip trick and double check the coolant and oil while the side cover is off.

Are our sleds like vehicles that throw silent codes ( silent codes are codes that are being thrown all the time but, they have to be thrown a certain amount in a certain time frame )?

On my supercharged sled it will do that if I have the programmer set too lean at idle. richen it up and runs like a champ.

Wierd that you made it 150 miles. Adjust the CO values in the service mode richer and see if that helps.

I think im going to throw my power commander on it also, what the heck. Then I can atleast see whats goin on

THANK THE GOOD LORD..... the issue happened 1/10th of a mile from home..... Here is what I found 5 min ago when I started the sled up and the digital gauge wouldnt register temp and the stock red temp light wouldnt shut off....... WELLLLLLLL it helps to have the rad hose hooked up.

Thankfully the digital temp gauge never read over 169 all night except for that last 1/10 mile when it got up around 183. So im not worried I got anything to hot.

Yeah dont I know it. I must have hit a bump just right. Goodbye plastic hose clamp hello SS hose clamp.

you aint kidding. Thankfully the digital temp gauge does two things it will read the temp if its getting to hot, like it should. But it will also go to a default 68f if its not reading and fluid temp. SO if I ever see it at 68f I know somthings up.
