noticed today while I was riding, if I let off throttle completely and braked hard from a higher speed coming to a stop the clutches would whine, but when I would go to get going again the sled wouldn't move and would make a noise like an old dogs bark. Couple blips of the throttle would seem to get it moving again. It's like the belt was stuck or something. Was weird Forsure! Anybody experience anything similar or know what this might be?

Sounds like the belts getting caught up in the secondary due to hard breaking. My wife's did the same when I was riding it on a hard break into a corner and coming out when I was putting it through the paces. I'm ditching the 8jp for the gates carbon fiber equilivent. That belt has been my only negative, too soft and hangs up, tons of dust. My wife smoked the 8jp already in some tight two tracks getting stuck. Little shavings everywhere.

That was my first thought and it sounds like were both having the same problem. That is my only complaint too with 1040kms

What's the gates carbon fibre? What about the 8dn and adding shims? I believe that's what guys are doing.

Mine was doing same thing with 8dn a couple weekends ago. First and only ride of the season so haven't been able to look into it more but it's definitely clutching related

Nos pro did a lot of testing with the gates belts and found even better results then the 8dn. He does run the gates carbon fiber 8dn equilivent with machined clutches. But for my wife's sled the gates 8jp equilivent will do. They are supposed to perform better and last longer then 8dn. Do a search in it he has a good write up and I just PM'd him about it and he sent me the part numbers. I can get them for ya if you want. Only draw back is they are a little more in cost but last longer.

Ya the whine is a normal sound, but but a few times after coming to a hard complete stop it wouldn't move right away and made an awful sound. Clutching related forsure...

I have a feeling the belt would be up too high on the secondary. My buddy said to try hole #9 instead of #6
