I'm hoping for rider forward light weight 4-stroke!! That's what it would take to get my money.

Hey, welcome to the site, but whats up with the avatar. Did you get confused? This is a YAMAHA forum. :?

He is not afraid to put his two cents worth into the forum. Welcome aboard Revster.

Now they'll probably hold up the turbo release just to make me look stupid

Envision this:

2 Japanese Yamaha company exucutive sitting in Japan saying, "Let's hold up the turbo release so we can make that guy on the RX!.info web site look stupid."

And then they give the go ahead to build 2 million sleds.

I'm absolutely sure that's the way it happened. chuckle

Exactly!! The little Bastards! :moon:

Well the dealer I talked too said Yamaha is doing something radical and are not going to play catch up with the other manufacturers. I would say we have a stock turbo sled with warrranty. All 2 strokers are going to be turning green with envy.

Fact: 162" x 16" wide x 2.5"
Fact: EFI, now approx 170hp :D
Fact: Successful seight watchers program once again...approx 40#
Fact: Addition of ATTAK moniker to the RX1 Mountain badge
Fact: Styling updates
Fiction: Factory turbo :?

Stay tuned!

I am most interested in a 4 stroke ditchbanger. I suspect if we see it, it may well be the 850 cc twin that someone else hinted at. Yamaha has used motorcycle based engines for the other two four strokes, so using the TDM/TRX engine would be natural. 105 - 110 hp would run well with the 120 hp 2-stroke competitors. (My 120 hp Rage runs strong against 130 hp 2 strokes).
The chassis would likely be a snub nose version of the RS/RX chassis, with the steering post running between the carbs/injector bodies. This is the most economical route, and it makes sense. The RS/RX chassis is quite light and very strong. (An 05 RX1 weighs about the same as a Mach Z, despite the somewhat heavier engine.) It is also paid for. A new hood would be needed if the steering post goes over the engine as the central headlight is in the way (perhaps dual headlights on the side?) Obviously it would be a rider forward design.
I will be holding my breath.
