Hey guys I am new to the forum I wish I had found this site years ago. I have learned tons from your inputs on various subjects. before now I have had to learn things on my own. i have been riding my grizzly since sept 01. I am reaching 8000 miles on it and it has been running great for me. Starting to get into some wear though and now need to do some clutch rebuilding. The past six months I have been experiencing some loss of engine breaking or downshifting. I read about in this forum that it could be the one way bearing on the wet clutch, and even did the pre test that grizzhopper suggested for someone awhile ago and I have a bad bearing. Is this all I will need to replace on the clutch or do you usually find wear on shoe plate and have to replace also or even the clutch housing? i have already ordered an epi clutch kit. I am in the process of tearing into it now, was checking in my manual having a hard time getting secondary nut loose when I seen that i can finally log into this forum. any suggestions would be great.

I would think just the springs and the bearings, check the shoes and toss some pics up of what they look like.

hey thanks for the inputs i know that i am within specs from manual but wasnt sure of coloring etc. I am waiting for parts to finish my rebuild of clutch. My one way bearing is bad and I ordered a new nut with the detent. So I wait.
I had already ordered an EPI clutch kit for oversized tires. we will have to see if it adds any on lower end. I like playing in the mud and rock crawling. Speeds great but most trails I like with my grizz, its not much of a factor there is plenty of speed on upper end I can sacrafice a little.
