Thats what I talked to Turtle about today he seems to believe this will solve alot of the problem. Where did you purchase fitting I plan on trying this in conjunction with evac kit from Bob at L/P oil blow by should no longer be an issue!!! BTW are you going into stock hole or tapping a new hole???

I've got it comming from Alpine Motorsports, 250-804-4334, its aluminum with a 1/2" connection, and it does thread into the stock hole.

If anything you want to vent both holes to the atmosphere or an external breather device. I will be venting mine 3 ways to the Lightning Pro box. I believe with that much venting, there won't be enough pressure to push the oil up the vents out of the case. This basically will be tripling the venting capacity. Blow into a hose with one hole. You get pressure on the other end. Now put 3 holes into it and blow. Less pressure. Same principle.
One more thing. This is also a boost pressure related problem. As the pressure increases, so does the case pressure and the probability of oil coming out the breather. I believe you could run all day at 8 #'s and speeds less than 80 mph and not have a problem. Crank up the boost and do some sustained full throttle runs and here comes the oil.
I beleive that LP uses the exsisting line, the valve cover cap hole, and a tee in the line going to the oil tank. If they do in fact use the line to the oil tank the be aware that if you should lay the sled on it's side (especially the left) or roll it over there is a high likelyhood that oil will leak out. Unfortunately us mountain guys do this to often :shock:

The line I have out of the valve cover is too small, although any additional venting is a plus. Two 1/2" lines would be good, but bigger would be better.
You are right about the way LP vents their's. Fortunately, I don't lay ny sled on it's side. You could however tap more holes into the block or valve cover to add vents.

You could use a brass bulkhead fitting used in boats, They come in a variety of sizes. The fitting for the existing holes is 18 mm I believe.

I just ordered some custom fittings so that I can put two 3/4 vents in the valve cover.
It was done as a favor to me, but if there was enough demand he might make up some more.
I will post pics next week when I get it all done.

OK, this is all making more sense, I may have been missunderstanding the information I was getting. I WAS going to route the breather into the valve cover but sounds like that will cause more serious problems. I think I'll wait and see what is really going to work the best. Thanks for the help.

2. Use L/P evac kit to vent case and send back into oil tank & stock hole in valve cover..
3. Plug hole in case where turbo is draining now
