I was just curious as to what brand of oil everyone uses. I use Yamalube in the warrior and raptor when I had it, but Castrol in my old 600griz.

i use castrol synthetic in my grizz . i found my grizz likes the castrol better than mobil 1 syntec .

Just wondering, but how do you know when your wheeler likes one kind of oil better than another?

I use castrol syntec too in my grizz, and regular castrol 10w40 in my warrior

The only bad thing about Yamaha oil is that its not full synthetic (its synthetic blend, last time I checked).
If you just have a liquid-cooled utility quad that you use for working around the yard and trail riding, Id bet that Yamalube would be fine, but if you have a sport quad where the engine works pretty hard or revs up high (YFZ for example) or an air-cooled engine (because they tend to run hot), Id suggest full synthetic.
A couple of my buddies have Honda 450Rs and I recently talked them into switching from the Honda oil (synthetic blend) to Mobil 1 and according to them their quads start easier (they only have kick-start), run better and dont use oil like they used to. They use their quads pretty hard (they use the rev limiter on a daily basis), so for them a synthetic is needed.

in my xt 350 i run 20w50 amsoil. works well in my case
t as i drive it 30 min to work almost all spring summer and fall.

the bear is still too new for synthetic.

what i mean by like is that the oil stays cleaner longer wit castrol than mobil one... and runs smoother with castrol than mobil one.

Thats interesting because its a well-known fact that Castrol Syntec is not a true synthetic oil (its more of a highly, highly refined dino oil).
Ive always been a believer in Castrol and have never had any issues with it, however...
