When I bought my SC apex the valves were all cupped from being slammed into the rev limiter when the belts blew because the previous owner had the clutching wrong. Ulmer figured that out for me and threw a new head on it was flawless.
Not sure if that is the same as what you guys are calling 'floating' the valves or not though.
