What Did You Really Pay For Yamaha 2011 Sleds?

Just got off the phone with a dealer in New Hampshire, they quoted me $14049 for the Apex XTX. ;):D

Then offered me $6500 for my 2008 LTX GT that has 1,000 miles.

At least kiss me before you F*** me that's what I told them. Not to mention this would've have been the 5th sled i bought from them.

yeah i hate to say it but once this sled is done i might be going to doo if yamaha doesn't get their head screwed on straight. Power steering give me a break. 15k for a sled what a joke. they must have not watched snowmobile sales this year and the amount of left overs. Very disapointed in a company i have been with for 15 years.

Thats probably about $1000 more than trade in book value.

I'v seen dealer invoice, and if they sell one at $13000 with all acc. money back into the price, they will be making no money on the sale.
if a delaer sells a sled for invoice on the day the take delivery they will make $0. if they sell it 1 month later they will lose money - 99% of dealers are paying floor plan on their inventory - if you take the snow check plan, and get the $700 in yamaha bucks, the dealer only get's about half of that back - so thinking a dealer is making 10 or 11 points on a sled is unrealistic - 3-5 points might cover their real costs if they have had the sled for any amount of time.

My long time (low volume) dealer in Minnesota quoted me $13,700 for the Apex XTX and the well known one in the UP (without naming them) quoted me $13,200 for the same sled.

2011 nytro mtx 162 with avalanch bag, beacon, shovel, probe, travel tarp, and if picked op before end of october $200 yamibucks or no payments untill march. All of this with pdi, gst, and shipping in the back of the truck for $14,500. AWSOME deal!!!!

re

I happen to like it. It is the one time of year I can get f***** by someone else and my wife doesn't care. That puts me up to 3 maybe four times per year!!! :moon:

I got a feeling 2012 will be the year of the leftovers....

To me it's now.................You can save over $2000 on a 2010 Vector.......People were paying over $10,000 at X-mas time now around $8000.....crazy!!!!!

Still alot of 09's left in the crates. I'm not going to comment on the 15k price tag as the other companies haven't released there prices yet.

The problem is the resale value of sleds is so low you can't afford to sell your current sled unless you give it away! I've bought seven new Yamahas in a row. Perhaps not this year with my 2010 Vector LTX GT with only 2000 miles and a four year warranty.

That's the OEM's doing it, offering blow out prices starting on current models starting in the mid of January to help clear out inventory.... They are the ones responsible for this resale mess.. Yamaha toots about re-sale, but they are just as much to blame...

Those blow out prices were set by dealers. The prices in Canada never fell due to the economic disaster of last year. When one dealer hold true to the Oem price and you drive 200 miles to another were he drops his pants with $7000 OTD pricing! The dealers that don't want or could not afford the overhead through the panic. To be truthful the jump in price on the 2011 should stabilize the non-current market for dealers to recoup the lost profit. I've also seen guys who have purchased sleds at rock bottom pricing and expect to sell them for $1000-$2000 profit privately. Everything for sale is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If the market supports it, koodos.
