My buddy bought a used 2011 SE & air went somewhere from Mega in 100 mile ride. He bought another pump with higher psi scale & pumped to 175 psi. What should his Sag In measurement be at 225lbs. We are new to the Mega never had air shocks before & getting weight off sled to pump is a PITA. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I weigh it at about that same 225 and have mine set right about 170 psi. Sorry but I am away from my sled for now and cant provide you with a sit in measurement. I can tell you though that just a few psi makes a big difference in the Mega's ride characteristics. One point your friend will find it too soft (bottoming easily while eliminating the stutters) or too stiff (resisting bottoming while being rough through stutters).
He will need to play around with it to figure out his sweet spot. Much depends upon his riding style, ice buildup (added weight for the shock to support) air temp....etc.
I find it easier to adjust psi trailside when a friend is available to hold the sled tipped on a 45 (taking the weight off the Mega and one front shock when on its side)

We are trying to adjust by the numbers since something happened to air in 1st 100 miles & found stock pump & gauge only went up to 150 psi... worthless. We now have pump with 300 psi gauge so better idea what we are doing. Not sure if indoor /outdoor temp swing leaked air contracted or what? The mega not easy to adjust on trail & bud not open so far to setting SE on it's side. I keep saying find a friendly snow bank & we can get at it so far no go waits until home on jack. Too late then IMO so need to check by numbers on trail to figure out what is going on?

Sorry if i wasn't clear... I don't lay it all the way down on it's side. I get it up to the point it teeters on the edge of laying over. At this spot it is easy for someone else to hold it there while I adjust pressures.

I know exactly what you meant by tipped but you can do the same with a snowbank.Soldier'spapa said:Sorry if i wasn't clear... I don't lay it all the way down on it's side. I have always set the mega up like my 07gt, with the 40-45mm of sit in. I wrapped a zip tie around the shock to measure and as a reference to ensure I am using all the shock travel. For me,215 pounds dressed,160psi acheived this sit in measurement.i will bottom 1-2 times a day usually only on compression dips at speed.
