What is the best exhaust?

When I checked into the MPI pipe the tech I talked to there told me that they are using the Pat Hauck pipe. There is trimming and repositioning of a bracket. Also you have to double up on the tunnel protectors if you’re studded so the studs don’t damage the pipe. Sounds like a lot more work to install the Hauck pipe. Excell has a good pipe from what I have heard, kinda pricey though. http://www.excellmotorsports.com/ I'm going with the White Knuckle pipe. http://www.whiteknuckleperformance.com/

You running the MPI pipe I assume ? How does it compare in sound to the Whiteknuckle pipe or the Excell ? Louder, deeper, teny sounding......... or a sound clip would be great, very helpful for those of us trying to still decide. Also do they claim any H.P. gains or just the weight, if they claim H.p. have they proven it on Dyno like Whiteknuckle and Excell ? Does it sound anything like the Maxx Performance pipe sounded before the went out of business , (if you've ever heard one) . any info would be great !

Alaskinbowtie - Go to the main Totallyamaha link at the top left of this page, and go under TY photo area. Then click on 2005-2 Munising, and look 1/2 way down the page. There is a gutted clip, a White Knuckle clip, and a Maximum clip. I have my Attak with White Knuckle, wouldn't go with any other brand because of fit and finish, sound, and stainless design. The fuel injected models sound a little smoother, but still gives a great sound.

I've heard these clips but that doesn't tell me how the MPI pipe sounds and dyno results, this is why I asked if it sounds like the Maxx pipe. I would like to hear how loud the Whiteknuckle race pipe really is though, wish they had a clip on the site of that one too.

Alaskan - I have the race version, and it is ear bleeding. Go to

whiteknuckleperformance.com

There are a couple of clips on there of me from asphalt racing.

I thought the one of the clips was a maxx pipe?

Isn't it called Maximum Performance Incorporated (MPI)?

Call Aaron at excel. There are couple Key Features about the Excel exhaust that make it the best.

Best exhaust I've ever owned. Awesome fit and finish and the sound just turns heads like no other. Makes it a very cool, sleek look.

Yeah one of the clips WAS a Maxx Performance pipe but they're out of business, this is why I was asking how the Mpi pipe sounds in comparison, I haven't found a clip any where and nothing reguarding the H.p. , if it's claimed or Dyno proven ? I looked on the white knuckle site for that clip and I can't find it, do you have a link to it, I'd really like to hear it!!!!!! How loud is it for the rider with a full face helmet....... do you ride it alot or just drags ?

"dirk" What are the features that make Excell exhaust better than others??

Alaskin - I use the GP1 for race only, cause even with a helmet on, it is very loud!

I have the QC1 on the 05 RX1, and the AP3 on the Attak now. Love the sound, and didn't want to pay that much money for the Excell. White Knuckle is almost half of what the Excell is. Everybody has a good system, but I chose to stay with White Knuckle. Arne tells it the way it is, and that is a fact. Liked him from the get go, and if he can't get anymore hpr out of it, he means it! Not to say other companies lie, but Arne don't fib to sell product.
