Let me know what you know is the better Nytro for 660' snow drags?.. I know the theory that a longer track should be better but that's not always the real world case. I'm sure some of you guys actually do drag race. Is the shorter track better then the 144' ? This is for stock class.
Looking to get the kids a new sled that they can ride and drag race on some of the weekends. I'm thinking that the 121 is the way to go but what to hear it from people that know.
Thanks

I raced mine both as 121" and with 136". The 136" worked much better, it still digs and hauls great. You will surprize many 800 sleds. My drag days are over and Nytro is heading for a 144" x 1.75" future. Have fun.

My nytro was bought as a 121" in 2008 it would always be tight racing against 600 etecs and polaris iq's in 1000 ft drags But i would usually get them. i have converted it with all yamaha genuine XTX parts (now a 144) and it's hauls passed all the same sleds i raced previous years and for some weird reason i gained 5 kmh on radar going with the longer track. I would say in 660 your best bet is a 144" and do some clutching

The XTX doesn't seem to hook up any better than a 121 on hard packed cause of the 6° tip-up in the back. Its faster cause of the lower approach angle of the track. Maybe consider a 128" track, move the rear skid back to lessen the approach angle of the 121. You don't need to rotate the extra mass of the 144. I think Star Suspension has a kit to move the skid back, and use a 128" track. Also, consider 1" lugs too. Little stiffer so they won't fold over, plus less weight. If you are going to stud it also, the lighter track will help keep overall weight down.

- something from 2019!
we just got done having drag races here, on hardpack snow... and my nytro came out on top between an rtx and a mtx 162, the rtx similar mods as mine but a cobra track and I walked away from him from the begining to the end, the mtx 162 had a 2.5x16" track and similar mods would get me off the start but I would catch him about halfway down the 1000' track.

I think the Star Suspension XTX kit would be a good idea possibly, have heard that it really opens up the skids transfer. The only thing to worry about with setting a skid back (like 121 to 128) is the weight transfer is said to be diminished. I have never set back a skid or ridden a sled with a set back skid- just have heard others mention this loss of weight transfer.
The 144" with the tip up rails are no good. Mine seemed to hook up better with the 136" flat skid. (rail extensions) Limiter strap up and no coupler blocks.
The -08 front fox shocks lowers the front to a nice height for snow drag.

- 2008 nytro custom! 2014 viper custom
The best nytro built for the drags was an 2009 rtx se... we had two of them and they rock, I seem to think the cdi had diff settings in it from all other sleds..... I have a 2008 nytro rtx with all the same mods, clutching ect and it takes me by two lengths... when we switch drivers it doesnt change , it is just plain fast!
