I Chewed up 2 NEW YAMAHA Belts in 900 Kilometers on My RX1
There must be a Belt Stronger than That
I Dont think the Clutching is Set up all that Bad and with only900 K
IT IS NOT that Dirty and I Have Cleaned it

Snomotion, that's weird! I have the same sled. I put on 1000 miles on the same belt and had no belt issues. I was testing clutch setups never intended for the RX-1M. The only things I can think of are:
1. When I did my clutch alignment I had to pull off the shim (washer) on the inside of the secondary to get the alignment right. I has since read several others who found the same thing. Maybe the clutch alignment is off?
2. The split collars that determine how far apart the primary sheaves are separated from each other is a bit excessive. There's a good .070+ of gap between the outer sheave and the belt. I am ordering thinner ones today so when your clutches engage it's a much more gentle action on the belt (you don't end up digging a hole) than the violent action that takes place now.
I'm sure someone on here will have your answer. To the best of my knowledge the 8DN (that should be the belt you were using) is super strong. Best of luck. Powder Blue

Yamaha knew the power in this sled and I am sure they give us the strongest belt to support it! From all the other post I have seen no one has had a problem with the belt life. You have to have another problem such what Blue posted to you! Too many people over look the simple things that can cause a problem . Good luck !
