The manual says to hang a 22 lb weight from the track (I have used a 20lb dumbbell on the inside) and the gap between slider and track should be 25-30mm in the middle. Adjust by loosening the rear axle and screwing the two tension adjusters in or out- but keep them both even. However, most people would tell you that this spec is way too tight and you will burn off your sliders a lot quicker. I like to run it a little looser than spec (maybe 2") and some guys say keep it as loose as possible without ratcheting the drivers under acceleration.
If you do run track tightness at spec, it's not unusual to see the sliders wear down quickly to near the line and stay there for many many miles. I followed the manual and ran it on the loose side of the range they provide - slides wore down very quickly in some areas within a couple hundred miles but then stayed there the entire season. I'm going to experiment and run the same slides this winter and see how much I can get out of them - I don't think there will be issues.
