What is up with the 2003's starting to blow motors?????

I looked at a broken RX-1 with a big gaping hole in the crank case, dropped a con rod.
Anyone with a rx-1 engine for sale, get ahold of me.

I know a few guides with RX1s. One (New England Bob) had 20k on his sled when I rode with him, and is probably closing in on 30k miles now. He's a pretty hard rider, that sled gets hammered, but is serviced well.

I've ridden with guys with 8 and 9K miles on their sleds, zero motor problems. Also well taken care of by the dealer, though.

Iv'e ridden with nhrxrider, I reckon he has the most problems of any RX rider I've met, with high oil consumption.

I've had 2-smokes before, the wife's Poo Indy 500 needed a top-end overhaul at 4000 miles. My VMAX 700 was a very good sled, but the issues with jetting for different temperatures and altitudes oil consumption, tank range and so on switched me over to the Warrior.

Couldn't be happier with the Warrior, it runs hard and consistently in any conditions it's seen. I may swap the suspension to an M10 if I don't replace it with an Attak, and the stock skis and suspension setup were up to sh!t, but that's about it.

I would like to see a list of users with engine failures, I'm betting it's pretty short. At the Yamaha show yesterday I was looking over the Attak pretty good with a guy with a Doo coat on. We started talking about the engine and he asked me if I thought it would be more reliable than his 800 twin in his REV becuase he was awaiting his second engine this year :4STroke:

I think one has to use a full synthetic oil for protection or change your oil more often. They only hold a little amount of oil for a high rev engine.

Tons of us have 0 problems!! Tons are makeing 220+hp with 0 problems!

Crank Bearings failing on REV's is the only issue I've heard the last couple of years. Pretty wide spread problem from what the local dealer says.

Don't forget the flaking rings..............

SOme of my rev buddys are on their 3rd motor in 2 years. rx-1 motors are far and few between. Most of my ski-doo buddys have blown their motors from popped pto seals, flakeing rings. Out of all the members on this page there is very few problems with the engines.

Last I heard new england bob had just about 30,000mi on his rx.

Scoobys buddys got a ton of miles on their sleds with no falures.

Yeah tell me about it bad luck. I am taking it to the shop tonight figures its the best end of season snow I have seen in like 10 years. I still have my 500 to ride but its not the same. I am very confident that Woody's will tkae care of the problem I have the YES warranty Its just a bummer to be without it while there is still snow.
