Ive got a 07 Apex Gt with 1700 miles on it. Couple of weeks ago I broke my headlight assembly and windshield by hitting a trail marker. Ooops!! I got that fixed but for some reason when the sled is idling I hear a annoying vibrating noise coming from somewhere in the middle of the tunnel. It goes away when you rev it up so it must be in the exhaust somewhere.
Is there a heat shield underneath the seat that could be loose making this rattling noise???
Next question how the heck do you remove the seat to look underneath there???

If it's like my 07 Attak, there are two heat shields. One right off the engine, the other over the muffler/tailpipes which is in the back.
To get the seat off you need to start with the four screws underneath on the sides of the tunnel that hold the plastic trim under the taillight to the tunnel sides. Next there are two large head screws right under the taillight - be sure to use a #3 phillips and alot of force to keep the driver engaged to the screwhead. The heads can strip easy. Take all the plastic trim off and there are two long hooked fasteners that hold the seat to the rear heatshield. Loosen/remove the nuts and lift and slide the seat back and off. The taillight wire unplugs up front so you can take the seat right off. The rear heatshield is over the muffler & tailpipes.
You have to take the tank off to get to the front heatshield. That's a little more involved. You can see this shield with the tank in place from the sides with the side panels removed.
