I want to install an M-10 rear skid with a 16" wide track onto my Vector. It was a factory 121 and the M-10 installation kit utilizes the stock rear brackets. Problem is, because the stock brackets have 2 corregations they do not leave enough width to fit the 16" wide track. Anybody have an idea of what brackets would work?

I am in Ak too
I made the bracket for mine out of 3/16 or 1/4 aluminum shaving 8 lbs over stock and they have not bent yet I have been jumping it too. Anyway you will need to grind off the bolts inside the tunnel holding the chaincase on if it is anything like my RX1. Should be. Hows the snow in Valdez any to speak of thats worth coming for, I am in Wasilla, and was going to plan a trip there right after New Years. Thanks Send me a pm about conditions please. Thanks, Justin

I tried running MPI's billet drop brackets - but they did not allow the clearance for the 16 wide track either. I built brackets out of 1/4" aluminum. I think Timbersled's brackets would be good too.
And DEFINITELY shave the bolts inside the tunnel that mount the chaincase. I missed this and immediately toasted all outer lugs on my Maverick.

Thanks for the info. I measured the rear cross shaft for the M-10 and it is 16.5" wide. Sounds like making alumium brackets that take up the difference in width between the tunnel and the shaft would be the best way to go? I'll take a look at the Timbersled brackets as well.
Do anyone know if I'll need a tunnel extension with a 136? I'm only running a 1.25 tall track. I'm thinking a good way to determine what bolts need to be shaved will be to cut a 2x4 down to 16" long and see what it hits.

Most people that are putting 16" wide tracks in are fabing up a set of 1/4" 6061 aluminum brackets. Works well with the AC skids. No issues w/mine so far.

Right on, thanks for the info. Do the new plates just go straight down or are they also attached to the bottom of the running board? My stock plates do not attach to the underside of the running board while the plates on the mountain Vector and Apex do.

I don't know about yours. Mine is on an 04 RX-1 and they mount up into the tunnel with 2 bolts and about 4 or 5 structural rivets.
Here is a pic of the bracket on the sled
Here is a pic of the bracket:
One more of the 16" wide track in the sled. You can see the clearance.

Johnny, thanks for the pics! Are those 1/4" thick? I measured tonight and my stock plates will not work. They are roughly 1/2" thick.
4-strokes, I sent you a PM.

Yes. They are 1/4" 6061 aluminum. I wouldn't go any thicker. The AC skid pushes these brackets out about 1/16" to 1/8". Not a problem but any thicker and there might be.
