What set up for the best miles per gal. I have 06 apex gt with 136" track and I am going to replace all the bearings in chain case, should I stay with the stock gears and stock primary spring or go with the attak. gearing and spring? thanks

This is from a couple posts down "bottom gear change"
Geared down wont hurt,i run 23/40 on my apex rtx and it very strong, can still see 110 MPH and even more on good condition.i have tested all combo from 24/38,23/38 and 23/40.
24/38 is good for fuel economie.
23/38 is faster on ice!
23/40 is faster on snow! ( where you ride 98% of the time )
22/40 you will loose top end over 23/40

Changing all your bearings and going to extremes to save a buck on fuel mileage really wont help you at all.. Please don't take that wrong, but the cost of the bearings, time and money to install them wont yield you the fuel savings benifit to be worth the money you just spent. If it 'aint broke, don't fix it in this case...
The best thing you can do for mileage in my opinion, would be to spend the money on graphite hyfax, GOOD oil and grease for everything. I'm sure the "oil is oil" guys will chime in, but dyno tests have proven numerous times an increase in power. Having a high quality greas in all the zerks will help the suspension resist friction and binding.
One other, and probably a big one for mileage, would be a larger rear idler wheel kit. Making that track turn a larger circle on the rear end will reduce the power needed to spin the track. Lots of TY'ers have said they gain top end speed with them as well.
Bottom line,
$4 per gallon fuel @ 15 mpg = .26 per mile
You may only gain 2 or so mpg at best so for explanatin purposes, lets say you spend $100 on modifications to gain 2 mpg...
You'll only gain .02 cents per mile
$4 per gal fuel @ 17 mpg = .24 per mile
It may help in the long run, but you will soon be wearing out the parts you just repalaced, and be right back to where you started...
The absolute best thing you can do for increased fuel mileage is just good normal mainainence, and keep your right thumb under controll!!!

The sled has over 10,000mi on it and I am changeing the bearings to be safe. My 04 warrior had 13000 mi and the top chain case bearing went out and took the chain case with it. boone

I got the worst mileage when my track clips were missing or near gone. So if you haven't already replaced them and there are near gone, may as well take care of that. As stated good oil and grease, run the track as loose as poosible (without ratcheting). Something I found on the Wife's Phazer that worked very well was Ice Scratchers, keeps the Hifax cean, lubed, and cool, you're best chance for good MPG. But as Nate said, everything comes at a price. What I would do is look for things that will get you 2 for 1. Like maintenance and performance, ie scratchers, or replaceing worn out bearings.

New track, 8 over size boggie wheels, and 2 little wheels on the front of the rails. I know you only have 6 wheels but I added 2 more on the rail ext. for the 136 " track. Its also getting a new drive shaft and chain. My question was {with the longer track } would it be better to stay with the stock gearing and prim. clutch spring for a stock 121" stock apex gt or go with a attak gearing and and clutch spring for better miles per gal. and thanks for all the input from all
