I jsut bought an 06 Apex ER

I understand the dial on the tunnel for damping, is it compression damping?
what other adjustments are on the shocks that come on the ER

what setups have people changed to make it good for agressive trail riding

I am VERY impressed with the ride so far ( but I came from an SRX)

just curious if factory settings for limiter straps, ski pressure, etc is good to go, or if there are some obvious changes I should do

I am 190 lbs without gear and I don't seem to bottom out with the stock spring and 3/4 firm setting so far.......

for example, I noticed the RTX front preload is such that the A arms are about horizontal where the ER is lifted about an inch or so.......

thanks

I guess it's all pretty much preference for your trail conditions and riding style. I found it necessary to change the rear spring and re-valve all of the shocks to give me the ride quality and the performance I'm after.

A lot of us have installed 13mm sway bars and pulled the limiter strap in one hole in the front to help in cornering. You may also be able to get the sled to sit flatter by lifting the front end and loosening the springs in the front shocks. Loosen the nuts until the springs rattle and then tighten them a turn or 2. Should help the sled sit flatter for better cornering.
